Overview

One of the most popular and stunning places in Serbia!

Lazarev Canyon is situated ten kilometres from the town of Bor. It is the deepest and longest canyon in Eastern Serbia, and due to the steepness of its rocky cliffs, it has not yet been fully explored.

The canyon is known for its numerous caves and sinkholes. It is 9 kilometres long and between 300 and 500 metres high.

The canyon’s cliffs are vertical and flat, and at its narrowest point, the canyon is less than 7 metres wide. There are several viewing platforms on either side of the canyon, offering breathtaking views.
What's the Plan?
We’ll visit a few viewing points to admire the canyon.
Hiking along shaded forest trails, plenty of canopy cover, very comfortable.
Lots of lovely photos and coffee with a view of the canyon.
Suitable for everyone, but be prepared for a short, steep climb. It’s definitely worth it!

Programme

After the descent, we visit the Lazarevskaya Cave — a stunningly beautiful spot that stays cool year-round.
We’ll stop for lunch at a local cafe to enjoy authentic Serbian dishes (time is approximate).
Return to Belgrade. We will drop off the residents of Novi Sad near the railway station.
We’ll meet up with the transfer and guide in Ušče, Belgrade. The journey will take around 3½ hours. We’ll stop for a coffee at a service station along the way.
Let’s set off on our hike. We’ll visit two viewing points to admire the canyon. At the top viewing point, we’ll stop for a rest and a light snack. Please bring your own snacks and water.
